The DAISY Award®

Want to Thank Your Nurse?

Share your story! Say thank you by sharing your story of how a Lourdes Health nurse in Pasco, WA made a difference you will never forget. Nominate a nurse for The DAISY Award®!

The DAISY Award® for Extraordinary Nurses was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this international award to express gratitude to nurses and to enable other patients, families, and staff to thank and honor their special nurses. The DAISY Award recipient will be recognized at a ceremony and will receive a framed certificate, a DAISY Award signature lapel pin, and a hand-carved stone sculpture entitled A Healer’s Touch. Additionally, the unit or department of the recipient will receive cinnamon rolls - a favorite of Patrick’s during his illness- with the sentiment that the heavenly aroma will remind them how special they are and how important their work is.
