Lourdes Named Among America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery Four Years in a Row

A newly released Healthgrades study of patient outcomes in finds Lourdes Health among the best in the nation.

Lourdes Health has been recognized by Healthgrades as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals™ for Orthopedic Surgery. Healthgrades, the leading online resource helping consumers make informed decisions to find the right doctor and the right hospital for the right care, evaluated nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 32 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions. Healthgrades identified the 100 best-performing hospitals across all conditions or procedures evaluated within Orthopedic Surgery and Joint Replacement.

The achievement is part of findings released in the Healthgrades 2019 Report to the Nation. The new report demonstrates how clinical performance continues to differ dramatically between hospitals nationally, regionally and at the local level, and the impact that this variation may have on health outcomes.

Lourdes was also recognized for their superior outcome in several other areas:

In its 2019 Report to the Nation, Healthgrades compared Specialty Excellence Award Recipients as a group, to all other hospitals, and found that from 2015-2017, patients treated at hospitals receiving the America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement Award have, on average: 63% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.

From 2015-2017, patients treated at hospitals which did not receive the America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement Award are, on average, 2.71 times more likely to experience one or more complications in the hospital than if they were treated at hospitals that did receive the award.
